Why this is important: Cancer is a leading cause of death in Spokane County. Many deaths from cancer could be avoided if more people received screenings. A cancer diagnosis not only imposes a physical burden on the individual, there is also a financial burden.

Definition: Rate of new diagnosed cases of cancer per 100,000 individuals.
