Why this is important: Diabetes is a disease that can have serious complications, such as blindness, kidney damage, and lower-limb amputation. In Spokane County, diabetes was the seventh leading cause of death in 2014. Appropriate diagnosis, care, and management of the disease can lower the risk of complications.
